Experiences

Thursday..

I arrived in DesMoines at 9:30 with a little latening but the Dirksens were already waiting for me with signs and boards like "Welcome to IOWA" or something. I wore my shirt from the school so they could recognize me.. :) We drived home about 2 to 2 and a half hour..
When we arrives Verna showed me the house and I fell tired into my bed.

Friday..

First I slept till 10 o' clock to recover from the journey ;) At 11 we ate something at Pizza Ranch :D and yes, the most of ther Americans are fat! But theres too a kind of Strudel whats named Cactus Bread. Thats a kind of Pizza with sweets on it, fruit or brown sugar and cinnamon. After that I went to my high school with verna to get to know the headmaster and Some of the teachers. Because both of my hostparents are coaches at the school they know many of the people in my age and in the senior class (thats the class I'll belong to). So I got to know many of the students of my school, and Martin (Here a picture.. )

, the other german exchange student, too. They're all pretty nice. Really! All guys want to talk and ask without end. The afternoon we bought some stuff in the grocery like Peanut Butter, or Cheese in a can (You can use it like cream.. funny!) And we was in a store named Patchwork Village with some quilts. I bought there a Shirt with a paint on it: "I ♥ GC" (Goldfield Clarion). The night, there was nothing special..

Saturday..

This saturday I had again to stand up early. Verna and me we went to the high school to support Sierra in her game against other schools. Between the breaks I helped selling hotdogs or walking Taccos and Donuts ;) Here a picture:

I got to know McKenzie and some others this day. She's a senior girl and really nice. I think I'll have to do more with her later. The noon we went over to Effort Dodge to see Lakens Boyfriend, Seth, wrestle. He injured his finger, so we didn't stay long there and kept going to the Mal where I bought earrings at Claire's. This evening we ate fastfood again. But it was italian! I ate a salad and Verna just said "ick! Salad and fruit" (Now I finally don't even wonder why the Americans are fat :D) Sierra and me we watched Mama Mia in AE and at 8:30 I already lied in my bed and kept on sleeping. I was still tired from the flight!

Sunday..

This day was really funny. After I took my breakfast we went over to Goldfield, one hour away. Seths father, Dale, who named me goodlooking one ;) just wanted to show me the landscape on the snowmobile. (Oh, I forgot.. Laken said the boys think I'm hot :D) It was so great! We drove on the frozen river.. I think it were over 35 mph! And at the end we met some wild horses. Everyone should have done this :) ! Before they took me back home, we visited a farm with many animals.., there I could feed a black bear with an orange TicTac :D He was so cute, like a Teddy but big like an Elefant...

All in all, that was the day.. There was not really something else exiting going on till now.
